About Us

We want everyone to watch more Caribbean films.

Caribbean Pop-Up Cinema is a volunteer-led community organisation which programmes Caribbean films, promotes Caribbean filmmakers and produces Caribbean film events.

We work with small, mid-size, and large organisations who want to screen Caribbean films by curating film programmes, facilitating permissions, and providing marketing material and other support.

Since 2019, our own Caribbean Pop-Up Cinema events transform community spaces into cinemas, allowing first and second generation Caribbean people and all Caribbean cinema lovers to easily enjoy rich, authentic stories not often accessible elsewhere. We also pop up at traditional cinemas and collaborate on online film events.

“This event was excellent – I don’t know where I would’ve been able to watch these films in [Birmingham, UK] if it wasn’t for this!”

– Attendee, Caribbean Pop Up Cinema’s Homecoming screenings, 2019

In September 2022, we launched our first ever Caribbean International Film Fest, and we’re back again in 2023! Come join us at the Midlands Arts Centre in Birmingham, UK on September 30 – October 1.
